MICRO-SPRAYING
Micro-spraying will in future become more and more important in the die casting sector.
At Euroguss 2014 in Nuremberg, GERLIEVA Sprühtechnik GmbH presents a solution for minimum-quantity spraying that can be used for pressure-diecasting dies with optimized internal cooling. The advantage of the new technology is that the release agent is applied as a very fine spray. There is a free choice of spraying times and quantities. This solution permits the application of release agent over a large area either from one position, or while traversing. In this way even complicated mold contours can be uniformly wetted.
This GERLIEVA technology enables both savings in the amount of release agent consumed and reduced spraying cycle times. In addition it ensures improved part quality and increased mold life, while considerably reducing compressed air consumption. The smallest quantity of release agent that can be applied with one nozzle is 0.03 ml/ 0.1 second at 1 bar release-agent pressure.
Implementation on existing mold lubricators and spraying robots requires only a few conversion operations and needs little maintenance. Commercially-available release-agent concentrates or oils are equally suitable. The spray heads designed by GERLIEVA for minimum-quantity spraying are available both as standard heads and as mold-specific units.
